Carey Mulligan is engaged to a British folk rocker, it has been reported.
The 26-year-old British actress has only been dating Marcus Mumford, lead singer of Grammy-nominated band Mumford & Sons, for around five months. But it is believed the pair have decided to tie the knot following a whirlwind romance.
Mumford, 24, is thought to have proposed to Mulligan over the weekend at a luxury hotel in Somerset, England. After she accepted his marriage offer, the Oscar-nominated actress happily showed off her engagement ring to other guests at Babington House.
"Carey looked like the cat who had got the cream. She was wearing a beautiful ring and didn't seem to mind who saw it," a source told British newspaper The Sun. "They were stuck to each other like glue. She was doing most of the talking and he was hanging on her every word.
An eavesdropping source told The Sun that they certainly looked like a newly engaged couple:
"Carey looked like the cat who had got the cream," the source said. "She was wearing a beautiful ring and didn't seem to mind who saw it. They were stuck to each other like glue. She was doing most of the talking and he was hanging on her every word."
According to spinner.com the pair met in February at a private concert given by Mumford in Nashville, Tennessee. In recent months both Mumford and Mulligan were linked to other celebs, with Marcus dating singer Laura Marling and Carey dating Shia LaBeouf.
