Kat Von D and Jesse James getting back together

Kat Von D doesn't have a heart made of teflon, she's doing a damn good impression of it as the end of her engagement to Jesse James comes back to haunt her again and again.

Any love affair ending is painful, especially when it was headed towards a wedding that will never be, but the 29-year-old tattoo guru is suffering more than most.

Ironically Von D's chief tormentor is the one thing that also gives her solace - her business, the LA Ink parlour, which is promoted in her reality TV show for TLC.

Perhaps that's why Von D, who put on a brave face out in LA last week after momentarily losing her cool on a chat show, can deal with the pain of now dashed hopes being played out for the fans.

We've already seen Von D ink the face of ex-fiance James, 42 , to her torso and next week the audience of LA Ink will witness Kat designing her dream wedding dress.

We see one scene that depicts the ink-artist in fully-fledged Bridezilla mode as she shows her 'wedding folder' to reluctant designer friends, before describing her dream dress.

The raven-haired beauty turns to the friends who are busily putting the finishing touches to the Kat Von D clothing line, which launches in the Autumn.

Von D is seen explaining to her pals that both she and Jesse James want their wedding to be 'really special.'

In a recent tweet, James wrote to Kat, "*sigh,*" and included a link to an image that appeared to be a screen grab of the two together in happier times on Von D's TLC show, LA Ink. The show has been focusing a great deal of air time since this season debuted on their relationship. In the picture, Von D can be seen with her arms around James and kissing the troubled star who famously cheated on ex-wife Sandra Bullock.

In response, Von D tweeted back enigmatically, "..." That small exchange has led others to wonder if Von D is leaving the door open for the heavily tattooed pair to reunite. It seems to suggest that the two are communicating and share a fondness for what they had. But will they give it another go?

One problem is that James lives with his kids in Austin, Texas, and Von D is based in Los Angeles, California, where her tattoo shop is located and her show is filmed. Even if they were to overcome that hurdle, James doesn't seem like a very likely candidate for being able to keep it together in the long-term when it comes to relationships.

Kim Kardashian could even contemplate something like this.

The reality star is using her wedding to Kris Humphries as a marketing tool, coming out with a fragrance ("Love by Kim Kardashian") that she'll wear down the aisle - and, of course, charge $100 to naive fans to purchase.

My wedding day is going to be really special. My fragrance will be a keepsake I can keep for years, and I am excited to be able to share it with my fans," Kardashian told Us Weekly.

Perhaps someday the public will catch on: Being able to "share it with my fans" is nothing more than a euphemism for "cashing in on every conceivable opportunity I can because followers actually think they know me and I care.

Says a source close to the reality starlet, 30: "Kim wants it to resemble Prince William and Duchess Kate's!"

Kardashian and NBA hunk Humphries, 26, chose their cake -- which costs $15,000 to $20,000!! -- on a July 29 visit to Hansen's Cakes in L.A.

When the Duke and Duchess tied the knot on April 29, they munched on a traditional multitiered fruitcake with cream and white piping designed by prestigious British baker Fiona Cairns. The royal sweethearts worked closely with designer Cairns, who told Us Weekly "Catherine wanted a traditional wedding cake with a modern twist."

As for Kardashian and Humphries royal reality wedding, she tells Us, "It's all exciting, but a little stressful.

Is Humphries a hands-on groom? "He knows what he wants!" Kardashian says.

Wedding ring

Wedding ring or wedding band is a metal ring indicating the wearer is married. Depending on the local culture, it is worn on the base of the right or the left ring finger. The custom of wearing such a ring has spread widely beyond its origin in Europe. Originally worn by wives only, wedding rings became customary for both husbands and wives during the 20th century.

Traditional customs,Pre-wedding customs

According to some customs, the wedding ring forms the last in a series of gifts, which also may include the engagement ring, traditionally given as a betrothal present. This tradition was already in use in Ancient Rome and is possibly much older.

Among Eastern Orthodox and Eastern Catholic Christians, the exchange of rings is not technically part of the wedding service, but rather are exchanged at the betrothal. It is always a two-ring set given to her by the priest or by the best man. The orthodox Christian Church of Greece has recently stopped performing betrothal blessings separately, as these were often non-committing, and a betrothal ceremony is the initial part of the wedding service anyway. In many families an informal blessing is now performed by the betrothed ones' parents in a family dinner that formalizes the betrothal. The ceremony of betrothal is now possibly performed immediately before the wedding (or "crowning" as it is more properly called), and the actual symbolic act of marriage is not the exchange of rings, but the public proclamation of marriage by an authority figure or leader.

The future bridegroom may also give his future bride a jeweled ring (in North America since the 1930s, most commonly set with a diamond. See Engagement Ring) upon proposing to her. After the wedding the wedding band is worn on the ring finger, closest to the hand, and the engagement ring is worn in front of it. The rings usually match and sometimes interlock or are fused together to form one ring.

Wedding ceremony

In several traditions, the best man or maid of honor may have the duty of keeping track of a couple's wedding rings and to produce them at the symbolic moment of the giving and receiving of the rings during the traditional marriage ceremony. In more elaborate weddings, a ring bearer (that is, part of the family of the bride or groom) may assist in the ceremonial parading of the rings into the ceremony, often[citation needed] on a special cushion.

In older times, the wedding rings were not only a sign of love, but were also linked to the bestowal of 'earnest money'. According to the prayer book of Edward VI: after the words 'with this ring I thee wed' follow the words 'This gold and silver I give thee', at which point the groom was supposed to hand a leather purse filled with gold and silver coins to the bride.

Historically, the wedding ring was rather connected to the exchange of valuables at the moment of the wedding rather than a symbol of eternal love and devotion. It is a relic of the times when marriage was a contract between families, not individual lovers. Both families were then eager to ensure the economic safety of the young couple. Sometimes it went as far as being a conditional exchange as this old (and today outdated) German formula shows: 'I give you this ring as a sign of the marriage which has been promised between us, provided your father gives with you a marriage portion of 1000 Reichsthalers'.

The double-ring ceremony, or use of wedding rings for both partners, is a relatively recent innovation. The American jewelery industry started a marketing campaign aimed at encouraging this practice in the late 19th century.Learning from marketing lessons of the 1920s, changing economic times, and the impact of World War II, led to a more successful marketing campaign, and by the late 1940s, double-ring ceremonies made up for 80% of all weddings, as opposed to 15% before the Great Depression.

Post-wedding customs

After marriage, the ring is worn on the hand it had been placed on during the ceremony. By wearing rings on the fourth finger, a married couple symbolically declares their eternal love for each other. This has now become a matter of tradition and etiquette.

Some cultures exchange additional rings: In some parts of India, Hindus may use a toe ring or bichiya which is worn instead of a ring on a finger; although this is only for women, and increasingly worn along with a finger ring. In the eastern parts of India, primarily West Bengal, an iron bangle, or 'loha,' is worn by women. Increasingly, this bangle is given a gold or silver coating to improve its appearance. In Romania spouses celebrate their silver wedding anniversary (25 years of marriage) by exchanging silver wedding rings, which are worn on the 4th finger of the left hand along with the original (usually gold) wedding ring.

Roman Catholic - "N., take this ring as a sign of my love and fidelity. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Eastern Orthodox - "The servant of God (N.) is betrothed to the handmaid of God (N.), in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen." - from the Eastern Orthodox Service of Betrothal, part of the Mysterion of Holy Matrimony ("crowning"), said three times while the Priest makes the Sign of the Cross with the bride's ring over the bridegroom's head, he then places the bride's ring on the groom's hand. The same words are said three times over the bride, reversing the names of the bride and groom, placing the groom's ring on the bride's hand. The rings are then exchanged three times (either by the priest or by the best man), so that the bride and the groom end up with their own rings. In Eastern Orthodoxy the wedding ring is worn on the right hand rather than the left.

Kristin Cavallari

Kristin Elizabeth Cavallari, born January 5, 1987 is an American television personality and actress. She is best known for her starring roles on the former MTV programs Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and its spin-off, The Hills.

Early life

Cavallari was born in Denver, Colorado, the second of two children of Judith Spies (née Eifrig) and Dennis Cavallari. When her mother divorced her father, her older brother Mike moved with their father to Laguna Beach, California, while she moved with her mother to the village of Barrington, Illinois, a suburb an hour northwest of Chicago. Kristin attended Barrington Station Middle School, and graduated on to Barrington High School. After difficulties adjusting to a new life with a stepfather and stepbrother, Kristin moved to California to live with her father. Instead Kristin was enrolled at Santa Margarita Catholic High School for her sophomore year. After she attended a Driver's Education course through Laguna Beach High School, her father enrolled her in Laguna Beach High School.

Career

Cavallari was in her junior year of high school when the first season of Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County began production. At the time, she was involved in an on-and-off relationship with senior Stephen Colletti. Cavallari's romance with Colletti caused a rivalry with another cast member, Lauren Conrad. The love triangle became one of the series' central plotline. 

In May 2009, Cavallari confirmed that she would be joining the cast of the popular MTV reality series The Hills. She appeared in the mid-season finale that aired on May 31, 2009 and appeared as a regular in the remainder of the fifth season. She inked a deal with MTV to appear as a series regular throughout two more seasons of the series following the fifth. The sixth and final season aired summer 2010.

Acting

After her stint on Laguna Beach, Cavallari headed to Los Angeles and briefly enrolled at University of Southern California. She signed on the UPN reality television series Get This Party Started, which premiered February 7, 2006. The series was canceled after airing two episodes due to extremely low ratings. She guest starred in another UPN series Veronica Mars in one episode. She has appeared in numerous television roles such as CSI: NY, Cane and Adventures in Hollyhood.

In 2006, she signed on as Crystal in the horror film Fingerprints. Filming took place throughout April and May 2006 in two Oklahoma towns. The film premiered at Screamfest on October 16, 2006. The film won Best Feature at the 2006 New York City Horror Film Festival. The film was released in 2007 to mixed to positive reviews. She also played a small role in "Wristcutters: A Love Story," an independent film, directed by Goran Dukic in 2006.

In 2008, she had a supporting role in Spring Breakdown alongside Amy Poehler as Summer. The film was released straight-to-DVD on June 2, 2009 and received mixed reviews. She also starred in the independent film Green Flash alongside Torrey DeVitto.

Activism

Cavallari has been involved in the "Until There's a Cure" public service advertising campaign to raise awareness and funds for AIDS and HIV research and vaccine development. In 2006, Cavallari appeared in ads for PETA. and has also appeared as a celebrity spokesperson for "We Are Ellis Island", a campaign for the restoration of historic buildings on Ellis Island. In February 2009, she posed for the NOH8 Campaign in support of gay marriage. In January 2010, she traveled to El Salvador to do charity work. She told US Magazine "It really put everything into perspective and made me appreciate everything I have, seeing how happy and excited the kids were was the best feeling in the world", said Cavallari.  In March 2011, Cavallari traveled to Kenya, Africa to do charity work with the non-profit organization One Kid One World. Cavallari was engaged to Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler but he called off their engagement in mid July 2011.

Vanessa Minnillo

Vanessa Joy Lachey, née Minnillo, born November 9, 1980 is an American television personality, television host, model, and actress. A former Miss Teen USA, she has been a New York-based correspondent for Entertainment Tonight and a host of Total Request Live on MTV. She was the host of the Miss Universe 2007, which was held at Mexico City, Mexico, in the National Auditorium, with Mario Lopez.

Early life

Minnillo was born November 9, 1980. Her father is an American of Italian and Irish descent, and her mother, the former Helen Bercero, is of Philippine decent. Minnillo has an adopted brother, Vincent, who is two years older.

Minnillo's family moved frequently because of her father's service in the Air Force. She lived in Washington, California, Nevada, Florida, Germany and Japan and attended eight different schools in nine years. Minnillo's parents separated in 1983 and divorced in 1986.

After her mother's remarriage, Minnillo and her brother moved to Turkey with their mother and new stepfather. By 1990, in the wake of Operation Desert Shield, Minnillo and her brother returned to their father's home, eventually settling in Charleston, South Carolina, where Vanessa Minnillo attended the Roman Catholic Bishop England High School and was a cheerleader. From then on, she lived with her father and his second wife, Donna.

She also attended Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic School, located in San Bernardino, California, for one year.

Personal life

After meeting Nick Lachey and starring in his music video "What's Left Of Me", the pair dated for nearly three years. Minnillo's publicist confirmed the couple's split in June 2009. In the fall of 2009 it was announced they had reconciled. In November 2010, they announced their engagement.They were married July 15, 2011, on Sir Richard Branson's private Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands, with a intimate party of 35 close friends and family.

Minnillo was crowned Miss South Carolina Teen USA and went on to win the title Miss Teen USA in 1998, the first Miss Teen USA from South Carolina and also the first from South Carolina to be named the pageant's Miss Congeniality.

Hosting

The pageants served as a springboard to wider fame. She was a host on MTV's Total Request Live (TRL) from 2003 to 2007 and became a New York City correspondent for Entertainment Tonight in 2005.

She hosted Miss Teen USA (2004) and co-hosted Miss Universe (2007). Minnillo was a finalist in E!'s competition to replace Brooke Burke as host of Wild On.

She hosts True Beauty, a competition in which 10 contestants vie for $100,000 and inclusion in People Magazine's 100 Most Beautiful People issue. The series premiered on ABC on January 5, 2009, with a first season that ran through February 23, 2009. ABC renewed the series for a second season which ran from May 31, 2010 through July 19, 2010.

Minnillo will become co-host of ABC's Wipeout beginning in winter 2011.

Minnillo signed on to appear in Redefining Love, a 2009 romantic comedy, but she is not listed in the final cast.

In November 2009, TVGuide.com announced that Minnillo would guest star alongside Disaster Movie co-star Kim Kardashian on CBS's CSI: NY. "The ladies (Vanessa and Kim) portray two women who've managed to concoct a very interesting scheme that ends in murder," confirmed executive producer Pam Veasey. Minnillo's former MTV colleague and close friend, La La Vasquez, as well as the band Train, will also appear in the episode.

In 2011, she guest starred on 30 Rock as Carmen Chao, Avery's coworker at NBC who is competing for the same promotion.

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. --Beatles songs have become standard fare on music competition shows, and Paul McCartney admitted on Thursday he is a fan of programs like “American Idol” and “The X Factor.”

“I think all of that is cool because it’s what’s happening today,” Paul told reporters as he answered questions via satellite from Cincinnati, OH, at the Showtime portion of the Television Critics Association Session in Beverly Hills.

“You always have to understand, if people want it – it’s got some value,” he continued. “I feel a little sorry sometimes for some of the performers because they don’t have that background [like The Beatles]. We had years before we hit it big time… But I think the shows are fascinating. I watch those kinds of shows.”

Paul, who was promoting his upcoming Showtime documentary “The Love We Make,” about the Concert for New York, following 9/11, said that while he likes the music shows, he prefers a little more action on the tube.

“My taste in TV is not perhaps the greatest. But I love those kinds of shows. I probably watch more sports. I like ESPN,” he said. “I hate to say, I sometimes get completely hooked on the shopping channels.

On Thursday, he spoke at the Television Critics Press tour in Los Angeles -- via satellite from Cincinnati – about what he experienced on Sept. 11 and what drove him to help.

I was on my way back to England having just had a short visit to America,” McCartney recounted. “We were at JFK on the tarmac. The pilot just suddenly said we can’t take off, we have to go back to base. And out of the window out of the right hand side of the airplane, you could see the Twin Towers. First you could see one plume of smoke, and then you could see two shortly thereafter.”

McCartney said that at first, he thought it was an optical illusion, and that he didn’t realize how serious it was until a steward told him something “serious” had happened and whisked him off the plane.

The whole mood of the world, the country of America, and particularly the city of New York had changed. There was fear in the air. And I never experienced that, particularly in New York. So this was where the idea of doing a show came about.”

McCartney also said that growing up in a post-World War II Liverpool inspired him to use music to help the people of New York: “I grew up with all these people who just recently survived a war, and I noticed how they dealt with it. (He began to sing an old war song.) So I remembered that. And I thought, ‘That’s maybe what I can bring to this.’ Maybe I can just get that kind of feeling, that kind of old courage that I’d seen my parents and their generation exhibit. Maybe I’d be able to help America, New York out of this fearfulness.”

The musician said it wasn’t his intent to wait for the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11 to do a documentary about the concert, but that the date spurred him to action.

The anniversary just seemed like a good opportunity, so I got in touch with (director) Albert Maysles and said, ‘Is (all the footage from the concert) still all around? Would it make into a film?’ He said, ‘Yes, it would,’ so I said, ‘C’mon. Let’s do it, then.

I Love Lucy' Exhibit Opens At Library Of Congress

Hollywood Museum is celebrating the legendary Lucille Ball with a new exhibit.

It's timed to coincide with two special events- "I Love Lucy" is now 60 years old, and Ball herself would have been 100 years old on Saturday.

The new exhibit, "Lucille Ball at 100 and I Love Lucy at 60," highlights the life and career of the late queen of comedy.

"This was her life," said daughter Lucie Arnaz. "I mean, she was never happier when she was at work. I would like to say except when she was home. But, truly, that wasn't- she would even say, 'I'm sorry kids but my joy is my work.'"

Ball's work of course, included the TV comedy classic, "I Love Lucy." A "Best Of" DVD was just released with 14 classic episodes.

"Nobody better and no one like her," said Valerie Harper. "The Mount Rushmore of comedy."

"She was the first who was truly, exceptionally beautiful and not afraid to be a clown," said Carolyn Hennesy.

"Her timing was just so unbelievable," said Kate Linder. "I study her all the time."

If you want to know more about Ball, you have until Nov. 30 to visit the Hollywood Museum.

Also Library of Congress opened a new exhibition today, dedicated to the (still) popular television show "I Love Lucy."

The exhibit, "I Love Lucy: An American Legend," celebrates the 60th anniversary of the show. It is free, and will be on display until Jan. 28.

It features artifacts from the show, as well as photos and scrapbooks from the stars, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz.

Wedding dress smash-and-grab in Halifax

A 19-year-old Halifax woman is facing charges of break and enter after police say she smashed the window of a business, grabbed a wedding dress that was on display and ran away.

At 4:42 a.m. Tuesday, Halifax police were called to the business after witnesses reported seeing the alleged smash and grab.

Police located a woman matching the suspect's description a few blocks away. A wedding dress was also found nearby.

In a new twist on a runaway bride, a Halifax woman allegedly broke into a wedding shop early Tuesday morning, grabbed a dress and ran.

Halifax Police told the CBC the woman smashed the window of Winchester’s Bridal and Formals on Dresden Row just before 5 a.m., grabbed a dress that was on display and fled down Spring Garden Road.

Police caught the 19-year-old with the dress still in hand. Caitlin Patricia Marie Hill, 19, was charged with break and enter, breach of recognizance and breach of probation.

There were no details on whether the dress was designer or off-the-rack. “The only thing I can tell you as a guy is that it’s a white dress. That’s all I can say for sure,” said Const. Brian Palmeter.

De Niro, Keaton, Heigl shoot 'Wedding' scenes at Greenwich steakhouse

Lionsgate has acquired U.S. and U.K. distribution rights to "The Big Wedding" from Nu Image?/?Millennium films, and plans to open the ensemble comedy domestically Oct. 19, 2012.

Cast includes Robert De Niro, Susan Sarandon, Diane Keaton, Katherine Heigl, Amanda Seyfried, Robin Williams, Ben Barnes and Topher Grace. It's shooting in Greenwich, Conn.

"Wedding," written and directed by Justin Zackham ("The Bucket List"), centers on a long-divorced couple, played by De Niro and Keaton, being forced to pretend that they are still happily married at their son's wedding.

Zackham, Clay Pecorin, Richard Salvatore and Harry Ufland are producing. Nu Image's Avi Lerner, Danny Dimbort and Trevor Short are executive producing.

I saw De Niro because he came out for a cigarette when I was smoking," Sue Slocum, a paralegal who works on Sherwood Place, said Tuesday.

Sherwood Place runs parallel to Church Street and has a view of the back of the restaurant, where the film's cast and crew milled about in the beating sun, all under the watchful eye of a hulking security guard.

Williams made a cameo Monday on the closed set of the movie, which is scheduled for release in October 2012 and is being directed and produced by Greenwich High School graduates Justin Zackham and Clay Pecorin.

The filmmakers chose Gabriele's -- the former longtime home of Luca's -- for interior shots of the wedding reception that is supposed to take place at a country club.

The restaurant closed for three days, the first for setup and Monday and Tuesday for shooting.

"It's a privilege to have them here," said Danny Gabriele, the restaurant's owner. "Out of all the places in Greenwich, they chose us, which was a great thing."

The densely packed neighborhood just north of the Post Road in central Greenwich was transformed into Paramount Studios-lite, with Escalades shuttling the celebs to and fro and an assemblage of extras piling into a convoy vans.

"If anything, I think it's great for business because it brings more attention to an area that might not get it," said Nancy Waesche, owner of Pinky, a women's accessories shop in nearby William Street.

Waesche was out walking her golden retriever Honey at lunchtime Tuesday when she stopped to check out the action. Not long before, Keaton arrived on the set in the passenger seat of a van, smiling through the window.

"I'm a big fan of Diane Keaton," Waesche said.

De Niro and Keaton play a divorced couple who pretend to still be married for the wedding of their adopted son, played by Ben Barnes, who is known for his role as Prince Caspian in "The Chronicles of Narnia."

Barnes' character marries Amanda Seyfried, of "Mamma Mia!" and "Mean Girls" notoriety.

Heigl, who attended New Canaan High School and is known for her roles in the television series "Grey's Anatomy" and the comedy "Knocked Up," plays the biological daughter of De Niro's and Keaton's characters.

The movie also stars Topher Grace, the Darien-raised former star of "That '70s Show."

Grace and Heigl dined Monday night at Polpo restaurant, another celebrity hangout on Old Post Road No. 3.

True to their roots in Connecticut, which has become a prime destination for Hollywood because of its tax credits program, the movie's producers picked a number of locations in Greenwich to shoot.

Two Ton Films, Pecorin and Zackham's production company, is collaborating with Millennium Films on "The Wedding." In 2008, Zackham gave the graduation speech at Greenwich High School.

Zackham wrote and served as executive producer of "The Bucket List," the seize-the-day comedic drama pairing Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman.

Millennium Films sold the distribution rights of "The Wedding" in the U.S. and U.K. to Lionsgate, as first reported Tuesday by Variety.

The town waived a midnight-to-6 a.m. filming curfew so the producers could shoot a pool scene Friday into Saturday at Burning Tree Country Club.

Filming also took place at a home in the Stanwich neighborhood last month, which is about the same time that Gabriele said filmmakers approached him about using his restaurant, which opened in February.

Gabriele hung out on the set Monday and Tuesday, rubbing elbows with the cast.

"I met all of them. They were all great people," said Gabriele, whose family has owned the Luca's and now Gabriele's property for 30 years.

Next door to the movie shoot, at The Greenwich Exchange for Women's Work, a nonprofit consignment shop on Sherwood Place, the frenzy added a little spice to the dog days.

"I think it's a bit exciting," said Susan DeLuca, who has been working at the shop since April. "It's a good thing for Greenwich.

Duchess of Cambridge 'given SAS training' amid kidnap fears

Price William and Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine Middleton, flew economy class on their return home from the wedding of his cousin Zara Phillips.

The royal couple attended the wedding of Zara Phillips and English rugby player Mike Tindall. on July 30 in Edinburgh, Scotland. On their way home, they boarded Flybe a budget airline which costs about $80 for a one-way journey, reports the Daily Mail.

The couple came with security and checked in like ordinary folks. The flight was for Manchester, from where the couple’s home Anglesey is about two hours from the airport.

Prince Harry followed suit by taking a round-trip on Easy Jet flight, another discount airline. He paid about $70. He had to fork out an extra $20 for checking in his military bag.

A spokesperson for Flybe said they couldn’t comment on the couple’s trip because they had to respect the privacy of passengers, reports Telegraph.

With the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge living in Anglesey, the airport authorities are expecting more royal traffic. With that in mind they have even refurbished their airport lounge at a cost of $33,000 .Participants are also taught how to drive under pressure and how to create and pass on coded messages to rescuers.

The training, taught by members of the SAS, Scotland Yard’s personal protection squad or MI5 officers, has been taken by other Royals as well as politicians and people who work in some of the world’s dangerous regions.

The Queen, the Duke of Cambridge, and his parents, the late Diana, Princess of Wales and the Prince of Wales, have all taken the training.

The Duke took the course as a 16-year-old at the SAS base in Hereford in 1998. He was taught to fire a submachine gun and bundled into a car in a mock ambush.

"The Palace want to ensure Kate's new status doesn't make her vulnerable to attack,” a source told The Sun.

"She has been well trained in what to do should the unthinkable happen. VIP kidnap protection training teaches how to cope both mentally and physically.

“The mental element involves reacting to unusual situations, such as when there was a stranger in the Queen's bedroom — and she just started talking to him."

The location of her training has not been disclosed. A spokesman for the Duchess was unavailable for comment.

Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall delay honeymoon

The Queen's granddaughter was back at work today, launching a range of children's equestrian clothing just days after the couple's wedding at Edinburgh's Canongate Kirk. Tindall returned to training yesterday.

Zara, who will still be known by her maiden name, said: ''The day was amazing and to have all of your friends there in one place, for both of us, was the best part of it.

''Unfortunately both of us do have quite busy lives so it's going to have to wait a bit for a honeymoon, but it is quite nice to go back to work as well.

''We're kind of missing the quiet period where we can catch up and have some sleep. It's back to work and that's what we do.''

She said the day had been nerve-wracking, adding: ''Everyone looked really serious when I walked in.

Zara denied reports that her cousin William - who married Kate Middleton in April - had been singing Bon Jovi's Livin' On A Prayer at karaoke during Saturday's celebrations, telling reporters if anyone had been singing it would have been her husband.

''There was no karaoke. I think there was assistance with the band, but that was about it,'' she said.

The eventing world champion today unveiled her first children's equestrian collection at Manor Farm, in Upper Slaughter, Gloucestershire.

The collection, named ZP 176 Kids, has been made in collaboration with clothing brand Musto, which already has an adult clothing range with Zara, and will form part of the autumn and winter 2011 collection.

Zara said she hoped to encourage enthusiasm among young riders.

The royal bride, 30, said she was excited to be Mrs Tindall, but she will remain Zara Phillips to preserve her sporting name.

"I'm very much Mrs Tindall and will be privately and I'm sure publicly as well, but just for professional and sponsors I'm going to keep Phillips as well - I'll keep both of them!"

Zara, who will be competing in the Gatcombe Park horse trials later this week, showed off her new range of clothing. It was modelled by keen Pony Club members, including two of her god-daughters - Nell Maude, 11, and Jaz Jocelyn, 8.

Phillips, who does not use a royal title, married Tindall on Saturday in a low-key, private ceremony in Edinburgh, Scotland, followed by a reception at the Palace of Holyroodhouse that reportedly went on into the early hours of the morning.

She said she has decided to keep her maiden name for professional and sponsorship purposes, but will be known as Mrs. Tindall in private.

So is the media and Hollywood’s fixation with wedding weight loss encouraging so-called “bride-orexia” with us average civilians?

“When celebrities and pop culture promote women getting thin for their wedding days, of course this impacts the women who follow these stories and encourages a trend of wedding day weight loss,” body image expert Sarah Maria told FOX411’s Pop Tarts column. “There is no denying that there is a cultural trend that women should be as thin as possible on their wedding day to fit into their dress and look their best, but all of this puts undue influence on the appearance of women for wedding day. Although ‘bride-orexia’ might not be a scientific term yet, it is used to refer to women who rapidly lose weight and whose weight falls below a healthy level in preparation for their wedding day. It can be a dangerous situation.”

According to the 2009 Health and Fitness Study conducted by TheKnot.com and WeddingChannel.com, roughly1.7 million American brides each year pledge to whittle their middle before the occasion, with most looking to shed 10 to 20 pounds before they wed.

Hollywood has cashed in on the craze via reality shows like CW’s “Shedding For the Wedding,” which follows nine overweight couples as they attempt to lose their unwanted weight and win a dream wedding. E!’s controversial “Bridalplasty” chronicled engaged women fighting for free plastic surgery ahead of their big day. And WE aired “Bulging Brides” which documented women’s desperate struggle to pop the pounds and “look picture perfect” to walk down the aisle.

Kim and hubby Kris Humphries visited Hansen’s Cakes on July 29 to try forkfuls of Los Angeles’ best cakes. The couple decided to get a ten-tier white cake with chocolate-chip icing and black-and-white decorations for their July 29 wedding. However, a source reveals to Us Magazine that “Kim wants it to resemble Prince William and Duchess Kate’s!”

“It’s going to be royal wedding number two,” says Khloe, whose 2009 wedding was watched by 3.2 million viewers on television. Back in May, OK! Magazine reported that Kim wanted to trump the Royal Wedding. Kim doesn’t see why a royal wedding should get more attention that hers. She sees herself as a bigger celebrity than Kate Middleton. Kim thinks it would probably be the biggest TV wedding of all time.

Rev. Bit greeted the 30 guests, in his robotic voice, told them a few stories about the happy couple and then lead them through their "I dos".

Hanson even programmed Rev. Bit to declare at that most poignant moment during the ceremony when last objections may be raised: "If anyone here has anything to say that might change their minds or has any objections, they do not want to hear it and I will not recognize your objections since Miguel has programmed me to only recognize his commands."

Wesley was thrilled about how her big day went. "Nothing about this wedding was traditional. We're not a traditional couple. We're kind of geeky, we're kind of techy and this was for us everything we wanted," she said.

Perhaps this is the rise of the Church of the Geek?

Clearly technology means a lot to this pair, and over the past several decades computers and the Internet have been able to assume roles that were traditionally held by the church. I discussed this phenomenon in a post featuring the viral video “The Internet is My Religion.”

But is the Internet replacing people’s once-religious experiences or supplementing them? I’m not sure. When it comes to getting hitched, church weddings have declined 60 percent among Roman Catholics in the U.S. over the past 40 years, according to the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate, and anecdotally, more people are having ordained-online friends perform the ceremony.
